Animals As Art is a life-sized animal model series created through the cutting-edge techniques of the special modeling technology.
Instead of traditional animal-stuffing, the studio makes full use of modeling materials to meticulously bring about the animals’ precise appearance, texture, and lifelikeness.
The sleeping figures of a polar bear mother & her cub give us the sensation that the actual sleeping bears are right in front of our eyes.
One polar bear model requires a team of three first-class modeling specialists & five assistants & three months of production time, through which the craftsmen manually implant every single hair on the head & carefully create gums, fangs, paw pads, nails, etc. (Production time may differ depending on concurrent orders & order quantity.)
Regular price (tax excluded) is 13,400,000 yen for the set & 8,900,000 yen for the mother.
1% of the profit from the product will be donated to WWF Japan (World Wide Fund for Nature Japan) in our support through this series for activities to oppose the sale of stuffed animals and protect endangered animals.
Junya Okabe, who has more than three decades of experiences in the visual & artistic special modeling industry, oversees the production.
Zeppet, the Special modeling studio under BLAST, Inc., where Junya Okabe works as the representative, takes charge of the production.
The production is further perfected under the supervision of Shinobu Matsuzaki at Kaiyodo, a leading nature-figure sculptor known for designing Choco Egg series, etc.
Mr. Matsuzaki, whose skills are known internationally, produces and supervises various animal display projects at the requests from Japan and overseas countries, including one from American Museum of Natural History (New York).
